Chef Jesse Alexander’s passion for cooking started at a very early age. His first apprentice position was with his great grandmother, “Great Gran,” at the age of six.
After graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Jesse pursued his love of food and cooking at Ellie’s restaurant in Vero Beach, Florida. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming sous chef in two short seasons. After Ellie’s closed in 2004, Jesse continued to hone his skills as a private chef for over a decade between Nantucket and Vero Beach. He has also worked as a consultant chef for the Ginn Real Estate Company, Cork Wine Bar and Osceola Bistro.
Orchid Gourmet, founded in 2010 fulfilled the executive chef and food & beverage director positions at Hawk’s Nest Golf Club from 2011-2015 in addition to normal catering operations.
Orchid Gourmet opened the 2015-2016 Winter season at their new permanent location in downtown Vero Beach, located at 1766 14th Avenue. While continuing to offer exceptional catering services, Orchid Gourmet has added a private dining room with a chef’s table concept, delivering 14 courses for private parties up to 20 people on 14th Avenue.
Orchid Gourmet draws inspiration from trend-setting restaurants and chefs around the world and continues to provide service to numerous high profile clients nationwide and is solely relied upon by Vero’s elite culinary palates.
